Indagare is a membership-based luxury travel platform that provides rich content alongside high-touch travel agency services. We spoke with their Director of People and Culture, Shoshana Balistierri, to get a better sense of what it's like to work there!
What makes Indagare a great place to work?
The people. Hands down. Working alongside a group of people that share the same mission, the same overall objective, is endlessly fulfilling. Because we seek to transform the lives of our members by curating once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences, we draw in people who are driven by hospitality and by giving back to others—our members, teammates, suppliers, community.
Because of our mission, we are able to attract talent from all over the world and our team is made up of emotionally intelligent, intellectually curious and performance-driven achievers. We thrive off of one another. Whether it's in an ideation session or a group meeting, we depend on a collective intelligence to foster a collaborative, community-centric culture. Being surrounded by people who are kind, who want you to succeed, who live and breathe collaboration and who share a passion for travel is incredibly motivating and empowering.
Plus, we get to travel the world, tell our story and help people plan transformational, magical vacations. Not so bad, right?
What are the career opportunities in the company?
We are currently experiencing one of the biggest growth phases in our company's history, so opportunities are aplenty. At Indagare, career growth is based on performance, progress in role and one's ability to consistently embody and embrace our core leadership values. We believe in helping people identify roles and opportunities that enable them to channel their strengths and unique skill set. Because of that, we encourage our team leaders to truly understand the goals and careers aspirations of their team members. Through consistent feedback, empathetic leadership and radical candor, we work hard to ensure the right people are in the right seats.
What’s it like getting started in the job?
Dynamic and a lot to take in (at first)! We're a fast-paced group, so your first day or two can feel like it's going a million miles a minute. That's why we do our best to provide our new team members with the resources, tools, and information they'll need to be successful in their first few weeks. We spend a lot of time checking in and making sure everyone feels supported. Since collaboration is weaved into the fabric of our behavior, we depend on each and every team member to play an active role in helping a new Indagare staffer get acclimated. We also assign all new hires a 'peer mentor' that plays an integral role in their first few weeks with the company.
